South Port Sailing School 2008

Serving Windsor and Essex County for over 35 years South Port Sailing Club and the Junior Sailing Club of Windsor and Essex County are pleased to announce the continuation of our Adult, Kidsail and Youth Sailing Programs.

Space is limited in all our programs and we anticipate considerable interest. We would advise all interested parties to submit their application along with the $25.00 deposit, as soon as possible to reserve a place in their program of choice.

Adult Sailing Program Ages 16 & up

New for 2008, all adult classes will be taught on keelboats owned by the Sailing School.

2008 Course Dates:
Session 1: June 30 - July 21 Monday and Thursday evenings 6:30pm to 9:00pm
Session 2: July 24 - August 14 Thursday and Monday evenings 6:30pm to 9:00pm

Cost: $190.00

Kidsail Program Ages 7 & 8

This Canadian Yachting Association sanctioned course provides an introduction to sailing and prepares children for our credited Youth Sailing Program

2008 Course Dates:
Session 1: July 21 - 25 mornings 9:00am - 12:00pm
Session 2: July 21 - 25 afternoons 1:00pm - 4:00pm

Cost: $110.00

Youth Sailing Programs Ages 9 to 16

All programs are credited Canadian Yachting Association programs. Participants receive CYA proficiency badges as they progress through the various standards.

2008 Programs and Costs:
White Sail 1,2,3: $275.00 per child per session(non-members)
Bronze 4,5 and Silver: $285.00 per child per session(non-members)
White Sail 1,2,3: $225.00 per child per session(members)
Bronze 4,5 and Silver: $235.00 per child per session(members)

2008 Course Dates:
Session 1: June 30 - July 18, mornings 8:30am to 12:30pm
Session 2: June 30 - July 18, afternoons 1:00pm to 5:00pm
Session 3: July 28 - August 15, mornings 8:30am to 12:30pm
Session 4: July 28 - August 15, afternoons 1:00pm to 5:00pm

Instructors

  • All instructors at South Port Sailing School are certified by both the Canadian Yachting Association and Ontario Sailing Association.

Safety Requirements

  1. Each student must have his or her own Ministry of Transportation approved lifejacket, vest type, at all times.
  2. Each student must be able to swim 50 feet.
  3. Each student must be able to swim underwater.

Students may be tested to ensure they meet requirements 2 & 3

Enrollment

  • All applications, including adult programs, must be accompanied by either payment in full, or a non-refundable deposit of $25.00 and a post dated check for the balance to be dated 14 days prior to the start of your course.
  • Separate applications must be made for each space requested.
  • Refunds of balance will only be issued if notice of cancellation is received seven days prior to the start of class. Cancellations received on or after this day are non-refundable.
