Rules

The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. The Sailing Instructions are attached. Copies are available in the clubhouse or downloadable from the SPSC web site. The official notice board is in the clubhouse's enclosed porch.

Dates & Times

A race will run every Wednesday in July (the 6^th , 13^th , 20^th & 27^th ). The first warning signal will be at 1845.

Classes to Race

Races will be sailed according to Essex County PHRF Association class rules and ratings.

There will be JOG and PHRF classes split into divisions as entries permit. Splits will be published before the first race.

Registration & Facilities

The entry fee is $20. Visiting boats may make use of the harbour and facilites. Contact Wesley at wgarthur@hotmail.com for details.

Please fill in and deliver the attached registration form to the SPSC office as early as possible.

Racing Area

The usual racing area shall be centred at Mark S, 1.4 miles at a heading 33º from outside the Pike Creek channel on Lake St. Clair. Marks are 0.75 nautical miles from the centre mark and arrayed in a regular octagon with mark 8 pinned to magnetic north (using magnetic variation of 7º 34' W).

Scoring

2 races are required to be completed to constitute a series.

When fewer than 4 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.

When 4 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.

Prizes

SPSC Open Series Regatta flags will be awarded in each division.
