Women's Challenge 2010

Tuesday May 18th thru Saturday June 26th
South Port Sailing Club is pleased to announce the continuation of the Women's Challenge for the 2010 year. In 2007 we adopted a new format by giving nearly 30 women the training, skills and opportunity to experience first hand the thrill of yacht racing.

Building on what we learned over the years we are pleased to announce what we believe to be our best Women's Challenge program ever.

Space is very limited and women are encouraged to apply early to reserve there place in what has historically been one of the funnest events at South Port.

Boat assignments and final registration will be on the evenning of the Meet & Greet. To ensure a place on a boat participants must be present and fully registered.

2010 Itinerary
Tuesday, May 18th
 Meet and Greet at South Port
6:00pm to 7:30pm Registration and snacks.
7:30 pm to 9:00pm Welcome from event organizers Jeanne Marchand and Chris Eagen. Boat assignments and introduction to skipper and boat.
9:00 pm Meet back at the club to for a quick Q & A.
Thursday, May 20 Classroom at South Port - Lesson plan to be announced.
Tuesday, May 25 First day of Sailing - Practice Sail
Tuesday, June 1 Second Practice
Tuesday, June 8 Third Practice
Tuesday, June 15 Fourth Practice
Tuesday, June 22 Fifth Practice
Saturday, June 26 Regatta Day

Cost:
$75.00 for all competitors.

Fee includes complimentary gift and two meal tickets on race day. Extra dinner tickets may be purchased for family and guests of the participants.

Visiting Boats and Crew
Boats with an all female crew are welcome to participate in the Regatta and the practices. Owner is allowed aboard to get boat to compete but may only intervene in the interest of safety.

This years race will be a distance race, course will be announced before the Meet & Greet in May.
