Summer Camp

Our summer camp sessions are open to all local children and teens. Both members and non-members are welcome.

Our sessions cater to ages 6–18, with activities and skill progression adapted to each age group and ability level.

Yes. Participants should be able to swim 50 feet in deep water with confidence while wearing a lifejacket.

All sailors must bring a Canadian Coast Guard or Transport Canada approved personal flotation device (PFD). Certified instructors and coaches supervise all on-water activities, and safety boats are on hand at all times.

Approved PFDs are available locally at Dan's Nautical Shop and Canadian Tire.

Children should bring a Canadian Coast Guard or Transport Canada approved PFD, a reusable water bottle, a change of clothes, towel, hat, sunglasses, closed-toed water shoes, sunscreen, and a nut-free packed lunch.

Yes, the camp sessions will run on Canada Day (Jul 1) and the August holiday Monday (Aug 3).

Camp and program days run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Activities include on-water sailing lessons, skill-building games, rigging, and occasional sailing adventures to local beaches and Peche Island.

We follow the Sail Canada CANSail curriculum, providing structured, skill-focused instruction that allows sailors to progress at their own pace.

Progress depends on the child’s experience and skill development. As a guideline, the recommended length of time to complete each level is:

• CANSail 1 – one week

• CANSail 2 – two weeks

• CANSail 3 and 4 – four weeks

• CANSail 5 and 6 – eight weeks

Instructors track advancement and provide support to ensure each participant meets their learning goals.

Yes. Sailors interested in joining the Race Team will pay extra for weekend regattas, which includes coaching during the event.

If sailing conditions are unsafe, campers participate in on-land activities, games, or theory sessions until it’s safe to return to the water.

Yes! We have designated days when parents are invited to join their children on the water and share in the sailing fun.
